Golden eye!

Hey Beauties, It's been a while since my last makeup post, but I have been so busy with Christmas and lots of things happening and coming up, but I wanted to do a quick post on these pictures as they have been sitting in my blog pics folder since before Christmas.

I have a real thing at the moment for gold eyes, I did create this look before Christmas and now thats out the way it's maybe a little less relevant but it's still beautiful and subtle, and it's something that I would wear out for a glass of bubbly with the girls.  I did the eyes using my Urban Decay Naked Palette, and the lip colour is an Astor perfect stay lip pen.  I have a review on the lip pen coming up in the next day or so, so I won't go into detail but I am LOVING them, and they were only £1, yep that's what I said!

I returned to work today after having 2 weeks off, and despite finding it a struggle to get out of bed I was glad to be getting back into some sort of routine!  I am also uber excited as I am going to Glasgow next Monday for a Pro Makeup course, and it's my birthday that say too! I'm thinking of vlogging my time there, and starting a youtube channel, but I am a little sceptical about putting myself out there like that, we'll see!

M.A.C me up!

Afternoon lovelies,

It's another dreich day (that means horrible in Scottish haha), it's been rainy and cold all week, I have to say I am definitely missing the sunny days of LA.  

Whilst I was in LA I visited one of there many MAC stores and picked up a few goodies.  Up until recently I  had only ever purchased one item from MAC, that being there long wear foundation, and I only got it because I was passing through Heathrow and needed a foundation.  Admittedly MAC has never been a brand that I have been attracted to, I dont know why, maybe just because of my lack of knowledge regarding there products, however that may about to change!

As I previously mentioned I built up quite a bit of my kit whilst away, and I picked up this face & body foundation from MAC as I had heard great things about it and that it was a fave amongst the MUA's.  I have tried it out on my skin, and I have a lot of red undertones, so for me this isn't a great foundation.  Its very sheer, so would be suitable for someone with already flawless smooth skin, or for someone who doesn't wear all that much makeup.  It did appear fairly blendable  it is slightly runnier than I am used to but I used my real techniques stippling brush to apply it and it went on well.  This is in shade NW2.  I don't think I will buy any more of this unless my course tutor recommends it, but i'll keep this one in my kit just incase.

I am in LOVE with this MAC lipstick, "up the amp" its a pinky, purpley toned lipstick, a colour that I would never normally wear.  The MAC lipsticks are very long wearing, it kept its colour on my lips for so long.  I will definitely be purchasing a few more of these.

These colour swatches dont really do these products justice, but they are just so yummy! I picked up a few more MAC products also, some eye-shadow, matte bronzer and a highlighter which I will review shortly.

Last night I was playing with a free sample of Smashbox BB cream, it was actually really nice, very lightweight and recommended for daily wear to work or a casual occasion.  I was also playing with my NAKED pallet, from Urban Decay, hence the two different coloured eyes, above are the results!  I added a bit of MAC cream pot in pearl to hi-light some key areas (forehead, nose, under eye, upper lip and chin) and although this was taken at night I was quite pleased with the results.
